Hi Buzz - I don't have a son, nor do I know anyone interested in becoming a shaving heir, which is a disappointment. I watch for new members, especially those in high school or college - or otherwise of limited disposable income, and I send them tools and supplies to get them started. I get a lot o...

Squire hit it on the head; I used to watch my dad shave all the time. He gave me his Slim Adjustable to pretend- shave with when he was done with it. I know I did'nt throw it out, but I have'nt been able to find it yet. My son is 14, and looks to be at least a year away from shaving. Last summer, I ...

Now, now, Lilac Vegetal does have it's fans. I'm one of them. Atrac, be advised that what you smell from the bottle and how it wears on the dry-down are very different. My opinion; don't be put off by the legion of detractors. The stuff has been around since 1884, so somebody likes it!

I would go with the Lavender, but that's my preference. The Taylor creams are all great performers! I agree with Brett; buy both. It's going to happen anyway, might as well get it over with now!

Vic, when things seem impossible you will find strength to do the impossible. You are blessed in the fact that you have your health so you can provide care for your wife. Your son doing his share at 14 years old is a tribute to the family bond you have. My prayers and best wishes for you and your f...

If the Dorco is the 300, I'd start with that. If it's the 301, then I would start with the Derby. As for the Palmolive, they're all great performers. The Menthol is my favorite, but you'd better really like menthol! Except for Permafrost, it has the most menthol of any shaving cream I've tried.

Thank you very much gentlemen, I sure do appreciate the support! Gareth, you're absolutely right; I do have a lot to be thankful for, and I am. I'm not used to being afraid, and I have to admit to being fearful a few times over the last month. What you said about friends and families is on the mark;...

A Rough Month

As a few members here know, my wife has chronic-progressive Multiple Sclerosis. About a month ago, she had the worst exacerbation of symptoms since I've known her. Unlike relapsing-remitting MS, my wife's condition never goes into remission. This exacerbation has left her in a bad way, unable to do ...

Yep, that's what Gillette did. It's a fine razor, but certainly no better than the standard Slim Adjustable which can be had for much less. What surprises me is the price increase. I paid $67 last June for one of these sets (H 3); lately they have been going for up to $200! The real Aristocrat is mu...

Gordon is spot-on; use distilled water. There is no reason you should be put off your brush and soap. Distilled water is readily available and inexpensive. Canned? Brushless? Just get the distilled water already; you've suffered enough!

I don't think I would follow her home; some women get spooked with something like that. I would wait until she gets out of work, "coincidentally" run into her in the parking lot, strike up a quick conversation and ask her if she would like to join me for a drink.

The Aristocrat is a fantastic razor! It is a more aggressive shaver than the SS. There's something about the heft of the Aristocrat that makes you appreciate just how well-made it is. By all means, accept the offer!!!

What would y'all think of the Permafrost Shave Stick instead of cream in terms of cooling-ness I have'nt used the cream yet, but the soap is incredibly cooling! Prior to Permafrost, Italian Palmolive Menthol cream was the most heavily-mentholated product I used. The Permafrost soap beats that by a ...
