There are very few companies left that produce quality products and still have incredible customer service. The shaving world is fortunate.

I must say I really don't care for the "Simfix" name. It reminds me of the Hollywodd phony contractions for celebrity names and couples (Brangelina, JLo, etc.) Both Vulfix and Simpson's have respected names and histories and I would like to see both retained.

Good question and I should have made it clear. The handles have all been used (at least once) but the cartridges listed are all new and in the carriers.

Porter; I think there is probably something to the idea that one's skin adjusts to using a particular type of shaving tool, perhaps more between electric razors than wetshaving razors. Also true about developing the necessary technique for using any particular shaving method. The thing about cartrid...

Travel Experience

I just got back from a week-long Thanksgiving trip, and I had decided to give some of the cartridge razors I have a stock of a try. I took along a Sensor, a Mach 3, and a Fusion. I also brought a can of Barbasol and a one of Gillette's Edge. I shaved almost every day, and tried to use a different ra...

I sent an old Simpson's #9 butterscotch brush to Vulfix a couple of years ago to be reknotted. They put a "finest" knot replacement and it has been an extraordinary brush. No shedding and great bristles.

I've used the Moss Scuttle for several years, and I both face lather and bowl lather also upon occasion. If I have a hard soap in a mug, I may work up some lather in the mug, but if I want to keep it warm I will finish up in the scuttle. I can't see having a bunch of different scuttles and mugs on t...

It's kind of fun to try some razors that haven't been used in a while. I decided to dig out razors that have been sitting around for several years and use them at least once to see if they were worth keeping either as users or collector's items (except the boxed Gillette Executive which I don't thin...

When I was very young I can remember watching my Granddad shave with a straight razor. His daily routine included brush and bowl, straight razor and a razor strop (which had multiple uses.) My Dad normally used a GEM SE and I had experimented with that starting when I was about 15 (1958). About that...

Some of the PAL injectors are tricky to get the injector blades inserted; especially if the cartridge has a plastic tab. You have to fiddle with it to get the edge of the blade lined up. Since the handle is curved and longer than many of the Schicks, it does take some practice to match up the blade ...

It probably has already started. I'll admit to doing the same thing, but I do have one razor that I eventually keep coming back to. Maybe I have to try other razors just to confirm my choice of a go-to razor.

Born 1943. Started shaving using a Tech then a Superspeed, and actually used a brush and bowl for a long time because that's what my Dad and Granddad used. My Granddad taught me to use a straight; that's all he used because he thought DE's were too dangerous and he kept getting nicks when he used on...
