Kevin, it sounds like you might be trying to inject the blade from the wrong end. Here's a picture of my old faithful dog, as if I were going to inject a new blade. These old ones have a "lip" underneath that usually makes the key insertion very easy. Slip the "key" of the blade ...

Really sorry to hear that Oscar. The "subject to termination" hopefully means it's not a sure thing. Hang in there and keep us informed.
All the best to you,

Gordon: Your're gonna love this! UPDATED!!

A little gentle ribbing here my friend. :D :P The wife and I went window shopping at a antique shop to try and locate a certain type of china buffet that she's been wanting. While my wife was busy looking, I just happen to strike up a conversation with the owner and asked her about any old shaving g...

Geez, Doc, what a great collection! Hell, most vendors don't even have that many in stock.
Should a fit of rage, distemper, or overall mental anguish set in, could I have the nice fuzzy one on the right top hand shelf? :)

David

Monday: Hot towel treatment. Razor: This is what I call my "dinosaur" (G model). It was a gift from an uncle many years ago and at that time I was the original user since it was NIB when he gave it to me. It still shaves great! :) Blade: Schick "Krona", forgot to put it in the pi...

I agree with Marc; the shoppers must have been asleep at the switch! Great price for something like that.
Let us know how it shaves.

Ditto as to what Richard said. I've ordered the large one, just waiting for it to show up. You can do the same thing by placing a bowl in the sink filled with hot water; problem is the bowl gets in the way and you clunk into it when you rinse your razor or need to get your hands in the water. Also, ...

WTG, Jose! =D> Your one of the few newbies that has a happy story and ending. It will only get better for you. As time goes on you'll find that you will probably have to make less passes and the shaves will get smoother. If your happy with the Merkur blades good for you, but there are other ones tha...

Gents; When I started to shave, (I believe that Gordon comes from that same era) those types of blades along with the excellent Schick Injector blades were the only ones you could get! All made in the USA and relatively cheap! Basically, you just couldn't get a bad blade. Now you know why sometimes ...

About a month ago, it snowed here in the high desert. Normally when it does that, it's maybe an inch or less. This time it was 2 feet! That may not sound like much to someone in a colder climate, but here that is truly being snowed in.

If it's not too much trouble, you think you could do the same "picture taking" with the Red Personnas?

I found that the Derbys work great for me in my Merkur 38C Barber Pole, and I have a medium thick beard. I want to try a few other baldes as well, but so far the Derby is the best one in that razor for me.

HJ, Your getting good advice here. Then only thing that I would ad is give a good hard look to the Merkurs. They are probably the best buy out there and I can testify that your buying a quality product. It's largely personal preference anyway, but I would go with the Progress or the 38C Barber Pole....

Yes, Gordon you do have a point there. The only time that I use it is on my days off so I can take my time and do it right. This thing is sharp as hell, and at least IMHO, is the closest thing you can get to a straight edge razor (hi Richard) which I also use as well. It's definately different than ...

Feather Cobra Classic SE

Hell, I thought you guys knew about this razor. I picked one up about 2 months ago. At the time I bought this razor, it wasn't even in the classic.com catalog. As a matter of fact, they didn't even have a name for it! Danielle, one of the owners, called it their injector razor. The only reason why I...
