Hey Peter, it's good to see your post.
I don't recall any shedding on my Somersets. I did have a newer Simpson and it shed quite a bit. The issue was resolved and the replacement hasn't shed.
I guess YMMV.

Re: Adding a new Razor need advice Muhle R89 or R89 twist
I have the classic 89 and the 2 piece twist 89. Personally, I prefer the classic design best. The twist is a little bit bulkier and seems to shave more aggressively than the classic. I have a couple of the chrome classics and one black, and I find myself shaving more with the black one. I don't have...

Re: After all these years (rose shave soap)...
QED made a Wild Rose glycerin soap a few years back. It was a limited supply and I did manage to get some.
The lather is okay, but the scent is very potent and natural as he used Rose essential oil.

Re: Ikon Shavecraft 102 -- first shave
My Ikon slant is very mild as well. I've found that all the Ikons that I've tried are relatively mild.
My favourite slant is the bakelite Merkur one. It's even smoother than the 37c and gives a very close shave.

Re: After all these years (rose shave soap)...
Richard, after all these years, I'm still waiting for that 'elusive' Harris rose soap as well.
When (and if) it finally comes out, hopefully it will be tallow like their other soaps.

Those look like really floppy brushes if I may say so.

I have found that Cella loses its scent over time. It smells like old Ivory hand soap after a while. LOL.

Re: Email from D.R. Harris re: new sandalwood soap and cream
Didn't Harris make Green Pond Sandalwood shave cream? That was AMAZING stuff!!! I think it was discontinued about 4 years ago. If its the same shave cream, count me in! =D> They did as far as I know since I did get a couple of tubs way back. One of the better Sandalwood scents in my opinion, and ex...

Re: Tempered glass or other screen protection for phones
My phone came with an Otter Box commuter case and screen protector. The screen protector lasted a few months but had gotten dull and full of small scratches. I went to the mall looking to replace it with another el cheapo one (about 5 bucks installed). The girl told me that I should invest in a bett...

Re: Ingram shaving cream
Phil, I had a tube that was at least 5 years old and I never had problems with it right to the end. It was the one with the blue writing on it.BullGoose wrote:It has a tendency to separate and become very runny. This is one of the reasons that I stopped carrying it.

A lot of these fake emails contain clickable links. I can spot many of them as fakes but like others said, sometimes some look pretty authentic. What I do is hover over the link with the mouse but not click on the link. 99.99% of the time the link you see in the status bar has nothing to do with Pay...

Re: Bit of a Mess
Squire, that 'little' shock from the door handle saved your life.
If you had stepped out onto the porch, you would have received a way bigger shock.
Thankfully you're okay and those martinis helped smooth things out.

Re: Review: TOBS Lime Luxury Shaving Soap
I've had the Lavender soap for quite some time and love the scent, performance and cost. I recently purchased the Limes as well as the Jermyn. The limes has a great scent that is not overpowering and of course it has not disappointed me with the performance. Some of these palm based soaps give outst...

Re: Indian Palmoilive sticks ???
I remember many years ago when I was a kid my dad using 'Brillantina' as he called it. He used to pour some on his palm and rub it into his hair. His hair was slick and smelled heavenly. I did find some a while back but alas, I'm not into oily hair, plus it's not worth using on what little hair I ha...
