Add one more reason - people repeatedly overlook items that are sold in groups.

link? Sorry; I don't know how to do the link thing. Someone else will have to do it. If you check the bid history of each of these auctions you will find that the two participants have 53 and 96 feedbacks respectively. So it is the same two schmoes in a bidding war. May the best man win .......LOL ...

Re: $500 Aristocrat???
I have been watching the Arisotcrats on EBAY and see there is an American version currently at close to $500. Seems awfully high compared to others I have seen. Anyone know what's up with this particular razor? Makes Tony's collectiion look like a STEAL! I know what you are talking about, but it is...

I am sure I have posted these pics before, but anyways, here's the #16. It has the flat blade guard, and it is heavier than the #22 and #66. I am assuming the numbers follow chronologically, but there is no solid documentation that I know of: http://upload3.postimage.org/90727/Number_16_01s.jpg http...

Yes, a really stunning razor and rare in that condition. It looks to me like a #16 with the flat rather than diamond-shaped blade-plate, in which case it's the best shaver of that type (a little heavier than the #66). Congrats on a fine purchase or find and happy shaving! k It doesn't look like the...

It is the Gillette injector razor with the original holder and blades. Works with either Gillette or Schick injector magazines. Was popular with many Schick injector users in the 1970's. The magazine indicates trac II because it is of the twin-edge type, with the spacing between the blades set the s...

Re: Help with ID: a Gillette Rocket variation?
I just spotted a razor that looks exactly like a 50s British Rocket, yet the tip of the handle, the part where it turns, doesn't have the two notches/stripes that Rockets usually have. Has anyone seen such a thing before? Is this a Rocket? It's marked with the British Pat. no., but no "Made in...

It isn't the photo--the two lines really aren't there. It's quite weird! What kind of box would a Rocket normally be expected to come in? I've seen some French ones with similar boxes, but in blue, but I have no idea what would be usual. You mean you actually have it and it doesn't have the rings (...

Do you dare to shave with that?!? Stupid question, I guess, but still...[/quote] LOL, no, not this one - it is a collector's piece and its place is in the display cabinet. THis model is heavier somewhat form the #22 and #66, 80 grams vs 70 grams. THe TTO work feels like handling a superb piece of m...

What's your case like? I'll put up pictures as well for comparison, but I have a gold #16 and #66, each in a case that's different from the one above. If ours are the same for the #16, we might both know we've got a proper one to match the razor. My #16 case is barely big enough to enclose the razo...

Philip Morris owned American Safety Razor for a while, but eventually it became a separate company again. The exterior of the stainless Pal (as opposed to the functioning) was designed by Henry Dreyfuss, who was fairly well-known. (He designed the appearance of the Princess phone, for instance.) In...
