For the last year or so I have been using Nesti Dante from Italy. I especially enjoy the Cypress scent. It is a huge bar and simply does an outstanding job with an wonderfully fresh fragrance. No additives either.

Personal advice would be to get a mid 80s Simpson brush whenever possible. You would be guaranteed then to have a brush made by one of the staff who would have had over 30 years experience turning handles and producing knots. From the family's point of view this was when the brushes were at their v...

Very nice kit to start. Please be patient and remember to apply NO Pressure. Focus on techique more than results at first. Practice and patience will get you where you want to be. Best wishes. You'll be a pro in no time.

After quite a lot of research I ordered the Duke 3 in best today. I am hopeful that it will compliment my Savile Row 3824. Hoping the brush will perform as well on soaps as the SR does on creams. I agonized over the D3 versus theChubby 2. Hope I made a good decision. If not, I'll just have to get an...

Reflection and evaluation

I have spent an incredible amount of time the last week or so reading so many different posts here on the forum. Though I joined in 2009 I have not been a regular contributor. I am a member as well over at B&B. In fact I have over 2K post there. After really reflecting and evaluating the depth o...

Pre vs Post Simpson brushes

For a long time now I have been and remain completely satisfied with my Savile Row 3824. Alas, like a lot of you I just have a hankering for a new brush. I have never owned a Simpson but obviously a lot of you have and love them. I am thinking of Chubby 1 or 2. For those of you who own both pre-Vulf...

I have a Savile Row (3824) Silvertip and I would not exchange it for any brush at any price. Simply Outstanding! :D

Just bought Floris 89 at the London Bathecary on line. $95 plus $5.95 shipping. I can tell you that the EDT last on long time on me. It is subdued and not in your face but it is there a long time. Love the stuff.
