Have you shown a picture of this particular razor? I'd enjoying seeing it if you can direct me to it.

Glenn, Upon further inspection of a group of razors I bought today, I realized that I may have misidentified one of them as an early Supepr Speed. It is TTO and has the comb with doors that close flush. Guess I snagged a Regent Tech too. Now...I need exact details on how you got it to looks sooooo g...

That work rivals what Chip Foose at Overhaulin' does with Old Cars! Excellent and a testament to what can be done by buying UGLY either online or from other sources. Inspiring indeed!

Thanks for the response Rob. I used the scrubbing bubbles on the 2 contemporary razors. The Schick looks awesome. The Gillette Techmatic is clean but ugly as H&*#@! I don't know why I even bought it.

Today's Antique Store Finds & Cleaning Question

Here are today's Antique Store finds, Butterscotch Bakelite handled Schick in original box, Black Plastic handled Schick Injector, and Black handled Gillette Techmatic. Cleaning question: I recently bought a can of the lemon scented Scrubbing Bubbles. Is it gentle enough to use on the plastic handle...

CigarDan, Thanks for your response. There is gold plating on the one on the right that has faded with use and age. The other forums B&B someone said it appeared to be a Milord.

Thanks

Confirm my suspicisions on Vintage Gillette DE Razors ID

I need a little help on proper ID on two Antique Store Gillette DE Razor finds today. I'm thinking the one on the left is a vintage Super Speed and the one on the right may be a Gillette Milord? Any confirmations? Thanks in advance.

Since being a newbie who procurred alot of old Gillettes in the past 10 days, I tried the Slim Adjustable which I thought I liked until I used the Fatboy ( for the last 5 shaves). I wouldn't change now as I am perfecting the use of the razor daily. I figure by October of 2012 I should have it down p...

Rocky,

I think Tim has offered an excellent suggestion with that eBay auction. The razors are not spectacular but would fill your need rather well. A bid for at least the $1.99 would be worth a whirl In My Opinion.

Pawel, I agree that the most fascinating thread would be one that someone could authenticate a razor or various shaving tools that had once been owned by a celebrity. Recent high profile auctions of Johnny Cash, Katherine Hepburn, and Jackie Onassis are the types of auction records that should be se...

Clive, Funny you should mention the Durham Duplex. I found this one yesterday at a "house call". From my research, mine is probably average at best as the Safety Razor variety. I understand that the one I found takes the same blades, rather longgggggg ones. http://upload5.postimage.org/110...

Careful using Google typing Shaving in the Movies, you'll find some not safe for work sites. :? The Blandings Cary Grant scene is superb (as is Ms. Loy) but I prefer the scene in North By Northwest where he shaves in the Train Depot lavatory with Eva Marie Saint's Little Travel Razor. The guy shavin...
