Re: Moisturizers for shaved heads
Chris, I kept the sides and top at a 1 1/2 guard or 4.5mm. Sometimes the one, 3mm, was too short on the sides. My problem was that the top of my head was very thin. Too short, well, looked bald anyway and too long on top, looked like parts in it from time to time. Then adjacent to the top, on the si...

Re: Moisturizers for shaved heads
Did it. Went bald for Fathers Day. So how to maintain it? Head blade? Regular disposable razors? Foil shaver? Or just use my clippers with no guard Spf protection you prefer? Also growing the beard out more. Just week one on the beard. Had a goatee and just decided last Sunday to not shave

Re: Used up my Coates stash...what’s good these days?
I too have done the Three H's, Coates, the shave soaps, the artisan stuff (who was it that had the shave stick first around here that was not from a mass producer?) I have two pots of Trumpers - rose and limes - and I could see me using that or Taylors or Truffit. Truffit was available locally, and ...

Re: When do you shave?
I loved shaving in the shower. Now, I mostly wear a goatee and go full beard at times. I shave about three times a week, in the morning right after a shower

Re: Cataracts
Thank you all for your posts. Second eye done. Wow. I have never seen distance better than now. Hitting 3’or 4 out of five on the 20-15 chart at a distance. I think my near will settle between 20-20 and 20-25. Got to let the drops do their magic and get a final check in a month

I’m now considering Allure Homme Sport Eau extreme or the regular Allure Homme. Edition blanche did not work for me. Regular Eau Sauvage just does not last

Re: Cataracts
I had the second I done a couple of days ago and I am reading 2020 as far as distance. Sometimes I do very well reading something at arms length like a magazine or menu and other times it’s a little bit on the blurry side. It may be my eyes are dried out a little bit because of the drops. Also they ...

Re: Cataracts
Clive and Murray: Well, if they had never told me I had cataracts, I would not have known. The neatest thing is being able to see the TV without glasses or contacts and that is even with the left eye not operated on, which is my distance eye. Also, the difference in the brightness of lights. It is l...

Re: Cataracts
Yesterday I had surgery on my right eye. Today I went in for a postop consultation and I can read 20/20. The biggest thing that I notice the difference in is that if I close my left eye, the surgical eye sees colors so much brighter. I would compare it to the LED bulb but with the daylight setting. ...

Re: Cataracts
It is the multi focal lens, like progressive glass lens, but also has an astigmatism feature. I could chose the monofocal lens or a true multi focal or the pan optic.

Re: Cataracts
Murray I am sorry to read that perhaps you did not get much improvement in vision other than to remove the cataracts. I have a mild case with of astigmatism My opthamologist is doing laser surgery and will try to correct for the astigmatism. My left or distance eye was pretty good already and was im...

Re: Moisturizers for shaved heads
Curious observation: some people have a lot of seborrhoea/dandruff/psoriasis on their scalps, or in their beards. Shaving seems to improve it (probably related to reducing the fungal population held in the hair (malssezia furfur being the usual culprit - there's an interesting story of Sam Shuster,...

Re: Cataracts
Murray my doc has chose the Pan Optix lens and it corrects for the vision and the distance. He said he will be making a cut with the laser into the cornea. I have a fitting appointment next Friday to get measured. He thought there would be a 3 in 4 chance that no contacts, glasses or readers would b...
