TOBS Sandalwood Cologne

For those who use TOBS sandalwood cologne, how do you find the longevity? I received a small sample in a spray bottle and, while I like the scent very much, it didn't seem to last. Queried TOBS about it, and they said they have never had a complaint about it not lasting. But, at least one Brit said ...

George F Trumper offers a sample kit that includes edts and charges a small about for shipping. Czech & Speake did sent out samples of their fragrances for free, but don't know if they still do. Penhaligon has/had samples available; don't remember if I had to pay or not. Check their websites. Th...

Finished my second shave with D.R. Harris Almond Cream (thanks to Churchill), and I do find the scent to be more persistent than either Trumpers or Taylors. Aroma-wise it is most like Trumpers - bright amaretto rather than the nuttier TOBS. Will keep on trying!

Well, I have a 3120 on loan and it's a good brush. I think, FWIW, if I ever was to actually buy one I would go with the 3122. That would be about optimal for me I think. Regards, Gordon Why do you feel that the 3122 would be better for you? I am eyeing a SR3120 sometime in the future. Currently hav...

Thanks for the suggestion. I just e-mailed D.R. Harris to see if I could get a sample from them. Appreciate it, John

Re: Almond Cream Revisited

Before commenting, please know that my sense of smell is such that I consider Castle Forbes lavender to be a complete waste of time and money - I find the aroma weak, mint-like and fleeting. I think your only hope is to buy any almond cream and add half a bottle of almond food essence..... Chris Yo...

Almond Cream Revisited

I had asked about a comparison of TOBS and Trumper almond creams in an earlier post. Had the TOBS so I ordered some samples of Trumper's from Trumper, received them, and ran a short comparison. Really, both shave very well and about the same. The difference (other than the material composition of th...

Hate to keep coming up with more questions, but just discovered Truefitt & Hill has an almond cream. Any comparative notes relative to TOBS and GFT regards aroma and shave quality? Thanks, John

Shaving Essentials site carries Wesley & Scott aftershave balm, including one in lavender with or without menthol, if I remember correctly. I find it absorbs into my skin as well or better than GFT skin food, and its scent is quite light. (It is much less expensive than GFT skin food.) I haven't...

If you use creams and like sandalwood, you must try C&E Sandalwood cream! Wonderful stuff! And just today found that the C&E web site is again offering it for sale. One of the only creams I know where the tube cost less per ounce than the tub, C&E's tub is a hefty, classy thing of beauty.

Yes, Trumper coconut is wonderful! Besides that and the TOBS almond, I currently use TOBS rose and C&E sandalwood. Have AOS lavender, which I got early on, but don't use it anymore. Haven't found a lavender fragrance I really like except C&E lavender water - and C&E went into chapter 11 ...

I have the TOBS Almond and the Trumper Coconut; like them both; running low on both. Going to order Trumper Coconut, and am wondering if I should replace the TOBS or go with Trumper for the almond, too. Thanks, John

Trumper Almond Shave Cream Question

Wondering if Trumper Almond Shave Cream has an aroma as good or better than TOBS Almond, and if it makes as wonderful a lather as Trumper Coconut Oil Shave Cream. Would appreciate opinions. Regards, John

Besides L'Occitane, there are two Body Shops (one at Westroads and one at Oakview) and at least two Bath and Body (one at Oakview and one at Shadow Lake). I don't use them for shaving supplies, but understand they have shaving creams, aftershaves and colognes.
