The massive upfront fees are because many new products fail, and because the pride and enthusiasm that come from his clever creation prevent the inventor from seeing that the warnings and statistics most definitely apply to him. I'm afraid this invention doesn't give me much confidence for its succ...

I have sensitive skin as well but of course each person’s sensitivities are individual so YMMV with these recommendations: ·Trumper’s Coconut or Rose shaving creams in the pot. ·Taylor of Old Bond Avocado in the pot. ·J. Peterman 1903 shaving cream - I have great luck with this as well even though i...

Re: Switching from a DE to a straight?
Lots. That about sums it up. Learning to *shave* with a straight is pretty easy. Learning to shave *well* is somewhat harder. If that's all you want to do then picking up a disposable-blade razor is probably the way to go (I'm partial to the Monsieur Charles over the Feather). Learning to hone the ...

Andrew I only use an Alum block to staunch a nick or cut, never as an aftershave treatment. And thus it is that I almost never use an Alum block since I rarely nick myself. They will probably bury me with the block I have. Anyway, staunching is the original purpose of the Alum block, at least I thin...

Well, Andrew, it’s good stuff. And if you consider it’s 200g just like it’s more expensive cousin – the Trumper’s products (at least in the States) it’s right in the market, maybe even a bit of a bargain. I don’t think anyone would have trouble making it last 6 months even with daily use. It’s dense...

Gordon, FWIW the Violet tube I have has a different scent than all the pots of old Violet that I snatched up at Bigelow's. My tube is more than a year old and the pots are definitely the old formulation as they have the address on the lid - every one of them. Perhaps sometimes as with some of the ot...

. . . And honestly, I've found that the higher end talcs are generally ground up much finer, and actually feel more silky and more smooth on the skin . . . Funny, I have the opposite sensation. I use the Clubman on weekends and Bronnley during the week. The reason being that the Clubman scent seems...

The old ingredients from my box are nearly identical except they don't include anything after Propylparaben from the new ingredients. That stuff may be related to scent that has been broken out from Perfume as some have postulated, but I am not knowledgable enough about the subject to talk about it....

I agree with Joshua, the Salter's creams are always consistent and have the same texture across their range (at least the two I use - Vetiver and Wild Rose). Despite the fact that they're more fluffy I can make a rich wet lather with them. It's not as protective as say old Trumper's but it's darn cl...

Andrew, interesting review. Those pictures look to me like that is certainly the new stuff. The same brilliant white color and dense texture. What I am surprised at is your liking for the scent. The stuff I smelled at Bigelow’s was nasty – a bad few pots perhaps? But they were markedly different in ...

Ken, Say no more, I know exactly what you mean. If it's denser than chocolate mousse it's good. From this I gather that if you were to tip your pot to it's side the product won't move. Mine moves if this is done to it. The heart of my question was to help determine if the pudding consistency is comm...
