I hand strop and turn the blade myself although I would love to find an effective way to strop SE Gem type blades. You can get stroppers for SE. The 1914 ever-ready I have has a clip that comes out of the handle that grips a SE blade, which itself screws to the handle. http://pict.com/album/21714/9...

flat wont cut for squat. you want the head of the razor just off of the face for optimum results.

Years ago I picked up a leather and canvas blade stropping strap and a jar of dressing and I am wondering if it is possible to successfully strop a GEM type SE blade.
