Re: Leaf razor

OMG> First shave with the Leaf Razor. I went bald two weeks ago. Since then I have shaved in the shower and at the sink. I have used a cheap disposable razor, new, that wife had left over from when she switched brands. I have used two different safety razors with Derby blades, and have used a Harry'...

Simpson synthetic

Anyone have experience with a Simpson’s synthetic brush? The prices aren’t bad and there’s one brush, the Trafalgar, that has three separate sizes and you can pick up the large not one for around $30

Blackstone grill

I have a Weber kettle charcoal grill and love it. Been eyeing a Kamado Joe, the cheaper version of the Big Green Egg, and my son-in-law swears by his. But a brother-in-law says I need the Blackstone. To make smashburgers, and breakfast with bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes and hashbrowns. Even can ma...

Re: I think I’m going to drink the peloton Kool-Aid

Still going strong with my Power Zone training. I had 253 rides in the year I have had the bike. So far, for 2022, I have ridden 1815 miles. My floor for a goal is 3600 miles or 300 miles a month. If I get to 4200, that is like riding the width of America from east coast to West coast, the shortest ...

Solo Stove

Thinking of getting one. We have a small firebit, more of say a metal bowl with legs, and it does well enough but you have to sit close to it to get the heat. Anyone comment on the pros and cons of a Solo and what accessories to consider?

Re: Mouthwash

Thanks, Sam. I'll have to give this one a whirl sometime. Chris How did it go? I have used up the Listernine. They have a 3 pack of the Icy Blue Therabreath at Costco for around $15. One bottle in Target is $8. I like that the peppermint oil kinda lingers in your mouth, giving it a fresher feeling....

Ok, anyone use a foil or a rotary for the head? I am trying to get BBS there and well, I have seen ads for the Pitbull. Or they say the Aldis foil does a great job

Re: Colonial Drug...The Cabinet of Curiosities

Going through the threads and wow, I remember calling up Colonial and talking at length with, I think her name was Cathy. If I get back to Boston and the Harvard area I will check in.

Gordon used to mention a couple of shops in NYC and I did visit one, Pasteur's I think?

Back in the day, I tried it. I found that it did not work any better than just using a good cream. Now, I have read that pre-shave oil might be good for head shaving and now that I have gone bald ------

I have an induction stove. I don't know that it heats and boils water faster. When I make tea, seems like it takes a while for a gallon of water to come to boil

Re: Which Hermes, Chanel, Dior for summer? Or am I reaching

One other thought, Sam: I think you've gone down the ADP route before, right? The original is good but does not have longevity. Essenza does, though, and I like it a lot. Similar to Eau Sauvage EDT, maybe, but much better longevity. Assoluta is good, too; discontinued, but you can find bottles on t...

Re: Older guys and mild razors

I have tried open combs, Gillette adjustables and the Merkur Futur. Even slant bars. The slant bar, yes, it was aggressive with a Feather blade. I don't recall why I tired of it. I have a long handle razor now, and had a couple of Gillette adjustables in my drawer. Have tied them all on my scalp and...

Re: Razor and Blade Reviews

Got it! :D It seems that the membership just aren't posting reviews of their razors these days. Except Teiste and myself. I see that. Also there is an explosion of new razors on the market since this forum started. No Rockwells, no Parkers, very few Chinese imports. Certainly no synthetic brush was...

Leaf razor

Anyone have any experience with the leaf razor? You can use up to three blades, which are double edge blades that you snap in half. And more specifically has anyone used it to shave their head and how does it compare to a regular Merkur DE razor

Re: Headshaving with a DE?

my vote goes for the fusion. Im kinda keen on the fusion, or the mach 3, or using up my Harrys cartridges and the DE I have. The Harrys did not cut as close today, so I need a new cartridge. Touched up with the DE. If I go electric, Ill probably get the Pitbull Gold by Skull Shaver. Widely recommen...

Re: Headshaving with a DE?

Update: Headblade? Recommended or use another razor? How long do their cartridges last? Fusion or Mach 3: Read that these seem to be the best, with the Mach 3 having bigger gaps between the blades so as not to clog it up, but Fusion has the flexing DE: I tried it. Okay so far Pitbull or Norelco elec...
