Re: FS: Mike's Natural Soaps
Hi Ed. Help me out, please... The Mike's has a square bar and a soap in a tin. Which is it? If its the one in a tin, why switch to an IKEA tin from one it came in? Thanks.

blade and razor combination
Each of us have a personal range of both blades and razors that we consider mild, medium or aggressive. For those times when you don't want to be super aggressive, do you prefer the combination of a mild blade and aggressive razor, or aggressive blade with mild razor?

Wow. Surprising to get no bites from the esteemed members here. I have done too much experimenting lately, so I think my next round of purchases will be some tried and trues...

Re: Update - GFT Limes Soap in bowl
The good news is that on that auction site, there's one born every minute.... They will see the fancy name and throw $$ at it. Good luck!

Re: trying to convert...
Today I had a great idea on what to do for my Dad. Since he is 1100 miles away, getting together to talk shaving is difficult. I enlisted my daughter to be videographer, and did a video of me going through my collection of razors. I had them all polished, and laid out oldest to newest. I picked up e...

Re: Shaving bowls...
I prefer a bowl/ mug that is nice and round and open, such as those oversized coffee/ cappucino mugs. I found a nice size ceramic bowl at target. It was a nice thick, dense pottery, wide opening, and probably the size of a softball cut exactly in half. Works for me perfectly.

BFD line of soft soaps
Hi gents. Has anyone tried any of the Barbieri di Figaro creams (classico, mistero, or excusivo)? They are made by Tcheon Fung Sing. I did a search and found nothing. I would be interested in your thoughts...

Re: what is 'hot' now?
Agree completely that the new razors are very popular. More and more styles and brands than ever. These are often quite expensive (a relative term, different for each reader of course). I still like hunting for old Gillette's I don't have but have read about here for years... In user grade that I cl...

what is 'hot' now?
Just curious what may be considered hot now in the vintage DE razor market now. I'm neither a buyer nor seller of any degree, but more interested in how these trends happen. At various times over the past few years, there have been unrealistic pricing flares for aristocrats, fat boys, slims, and oth...

Gordon, you are spot on that it will be my fault!!! I guess just add it to the list, then. Haha. I forgot to mention that I have my (now) 18 yr old son at least sharing the cream and brush affection. Has been for a couple years now. He hasn't been interested in trying any of my DE's yet, though. It ...

trying to convert...
Hi all. I may have two folks converting to wet shaving... First is interesting.... My Mother in law!! She wants to dump her current lady-whatever shaver and go with DE. Trust me guys, I love talking about shaving and will share with anyone, but this is just not one I will wish on anyone. And I don't...

Re: More humbug
If you go to a place where they have JB reps, they seem very knowledgable on wet shaving, but its a thin veneer... Scratch too much and all they know are their talking points. Don't stray from the script. And yes, product is not worth the hype or price point, but that's just my opinion.

Re: the FAT
Now I know why it has such a following! Just finished my shave, and boy is my face soft and smooth. I did watch the Mantic video for tips. It lathered up dense and creamy with little effort. And yes, my wife does enable me in my various SCAD and other disorders. She's a keeper .
