I was not offended by this article (other than the fawning tone). It states that Indian men shave: seated on the floor, with perhaps a small amount of still water, balancing a hand-held mirror in low light, and experiencing frequent nicks and cuts from his double-edged razor. I've never shaved under...

Three Men in a Boat- Jerome K. Jerome. I don't usually post in this thread but anglophiles, and people who like British humor, will enjoy it.

Ah. I don't know if people have any way to know when these things were made (but I'm not such a fan that I keep track of the brand). One would assume that they are sold in pretty much the order manufactured, but Pauldog is selling Feathers from the 1980s or so! And the only reason we know the Feathe...

I bought a bunch in 2008 or 09 on ebay. They are OK, better than random no-name blades. Among blades that get talked about I prefer Feathers or 7 OClocks.

This seems like an extraordinary step, but my guess is that a couple generations of men did this without even trying for years at a time. Barbisol or Burmashave or Williams or whatever. "D.R. Harris? LUXURY! In my day we took pond scum and applied it with live boar before shaving it off with a ...

I used to think that soaps were where one inevitably ended up, but I think Gordon is a cream guy, so there you go.

I like soaps because they are essentially very concentrated creams so they are more efficient in some abstract sense and more economical. My next purchase will be a cream though.

I strive to smell neutral or mildly pleasant, but not the bright shining star of the elevator I'm riding on. You were sorely missed during my elevator ride this morning. I don't think you could have taken up the space of the two or three guys who didn't share that sentiment, but you would have help...
