Hugo, I just threw that out there for some of those who may be interested in a description. My go to is the Tulip 4 because of the great handle no matter the hair. Nathan (I think) is a CH2 & HMW 16 type. Just some observations.

DR Harris ingredients

I had a delivery today and noticed that there is the added final ingredient 'Benzaldehyde' in a tube of the Harris Almond? Trumpers coconut does not list it. Maybe an EU thing.

The CH2 from the TGS photo on page two of this thread arrived. As Nathan discovered with Emily a good photo and discussion with the vendors we all know can get one (hopefully) as close to the ideal brush one desires whatever type of hair your after. A nice development for those of us who live in the...

I pm'd Gordon awhile back about rediscovering the non or lightly colored English creams. The Cube, Martin de Candre and other 'exotic' creatures have gone off to some of the relatives. Maybe that gold Aristocrat every once in a while but sticking with the late 60's black long handle seems to garner ...

K, Not much to add here but that is exactly what my T4 Super looks like. For a time reference I received mine from TGS I think in mid January. Nice score indeed.

A while ago a few of us were concerned with the discoloration of some of the more expensive shaving brush hairs due to the darker creams. I originally fell in love with the DR Harris lavender but was eventually turned off by that heavily colored cream. After experimenting a bit I am getting back 'in...

My mistake. Dana Point it is. One of the internet retailers I ordered from was based on Long Island.

Chris has a winner again (although that Martin De Candre shaving soap was a bit pricey!!) This stuff is not. If any of you enjoy the CAR A/S then you will understand price wise vs size wise. Large it is not but the wife and I have applied it to both us and the little one's with no dent yet after thr...

Khari, Some of us get excited about this sort of thing but your everyday life and complexion won't be hurt if you forget this 'so-called' Manchurian grade. Like those top end Plisson brushes from France there is a unique type of hair at the upper end of the price level that is interesting to some la...

English, your BK4 sounds like a winner made to last. Wait until Simpsons relaunches that website promoting Manchurians in all different shapes and sizes & of course very modest prices as well.

An important topic and some interesting products. The sunforgettable seems like a useful item for those on the go during the work week as well. Chris, just to follow up on Nathan's question judging the size of the tube how long do they last with daily application this time of year?

Peter, We tried to get the English Shaving Company up in Sheffield to make one of these as an adjustable. They could not do it with that Merkur head. Seems like a nice family retailer though who were interested in the request.

Red Bob, At 6'5 with large hands the long black handle John mentioned works great for me and they still come pretty cheap compared to some others out there. Richard too knows the firm closing (final turn) that the late 60's black handle offers.

Two red tips with a third 54-56 on the way. I love them now as much as that long handled 69 black Gillette and that silly new gold Aristocrat purchase I made which is just sitting in the box. Pretty to look at though I guess.

I heading towards a Rooney from TGS at some point but am holding off until the (fresh) new Coates arrives. Robert hinted in an email a couple of weeks ago it may be soon. You may want to wait a bit for a new Creighton formulation if indeed Simpsons still uses them.

I have been down visiting the family in Bermuda this week mixing the 40's and the two new 54 & 56 Superspeeds. The 40's, IMO, are a great starter razor but they do remind me of my lanky niece & reedy nephew. Get some steak into those kids for sure. The 56 red tip version is the best I have u...
