It's said they are made in Europe and are essentially the same as Tabac soap, but in better scents. I agree.

Re: PAA Prismatic DE Razor
As a result of even more continued usage with this lil' gem and other causes I have sold all my other DE razors, except for one Krona, two Techs & a "flare tip". Regardless, the shaves I am getting after taking the time to learn this razor are just simply fantastic. Because of the vast...

Absolutely, and then also with different soaps/creams.Squire wrote:Sounds ambitious, best of luck. One caveat though, you may find the same blade shaves differently in other razors.

I tried the new Premium when it became available and didn't like it as it was too rough. The original shaves fine for me however. Go figure.

It was the first cream I used when I began this adventure. Many overlook Proraso made products for catchy artisan soaps nowadays.

Re: Stirling Spice Soap
I am curious to know your opinions regarding the lather and performance of the Sterling tallow soaps. Absolutely top shelf. I cannot say enough good things about their shave soaps. The lather is a rich, deep tallow one and it's a thirsty soap. They have a cornucopia of scents for all tastes as well...

This can only be objectively tested in a controlled laboratory setting using advanced calibrated eqpmt. Anything less is merely subjective conjecture & therefore meaningless other than a crude barometer for a neophyte.

Re: Gillette Platinum-Plus blade from Brazil
The Brazilian Plat Plus was kind of an over priced "Low Rent""Blade , for a Gillette it was somewhat Of a failure in the Price Quality ratio... These blades were leftover stock having been made in Brazil in the 1990's They shipped them to the USA and paid no tax due to NAFTA. They ha...

Re: Quickest Solution For Razor Burn?
...(Yes, I know that the best way to fix razor burn is to avoid it in the first place with proper prep/lather/technique :D ) I agree with that Mark, as well as people using razors far more aggressive than what they need and/or in pursuit of the mythical BBS shave. Too many people are easily influen...

Re: Wilkinson Sword Blades from India, a Review
I recently received two tucks of these, but they are made in China by Gillette as marked on the back and they shave far better than the Indian version IMO.

Re: I am thinking about an open comb.
...As far as I know (have read), the older Gillette open-comb razors are much more aggressive than a Tech. I tried a Gillette NEW, which everyone was talking about at one time, and it was the most aggressive razor I ever tried. I never got past the start of a shave because it took the skin right of...

Ironically, I was in a Target store the other day & noticed it as well. I unscrewed the lid and smelled it.................or at least attempted to as it had no smell whatsoever to my nose. Seriously, none. Nada. Pass.

Re: Agressive razors?
Yes, IMO some razors are more aggressive than others whether it be blade gap or exposure. I for one do not like any OC razor as the feel of the teeth on my face are annoying and they are generally , notice I did NOT say always, more aggressive. Personally, I love any Gillette Tech razor, but as well...

Stirling Spice Soap
I received a sample of this recently and for those who want a shave soap closest to the vintage Old Spice one this is as close as you'll probably ever get. It's brown in color and as with all Stirling shave soaps has top shelf performance. Be warned, the scent is strong. https://www.stirlingsoap.com...

Re: Gillette Platinum-Plus blade from Brazil
Well, if you like these blades then grab 'em while you can because the HEB Plus store near me just sold all on closeout at $4.00 per pack and one Walgreens for approx. $3.50. They are now out and there will be no more.

WSP Formula T Soap
I recently bought a 1 oz. sample tin of WSP Ol' Kentucky Tallow Formula shaving soap and the following is my 2 cents. Firstly, it's a relatively hard soap so I bloomed it while in the shower. It lathers very well, but then again so do many other soaps. Regardless, the smell was fantastic, but incred...

After more usage and tinkering I agree with Mantic on this one. I refused to give up and learned its perks & angles so to speak and was rewarded with simply stellar performance. Incredible razor when used properly.

I recently traded some Gillette Silver Blue blades to Pausted here on the forum as I had 200 in storage and only sporadically used one nowadays. However, his interest reignited mine as well and after "revisiting" this blade on a more serious level after a two year or so hiatus I am glad I ...

Re: Personna Super Stainless Steel "For Hospital Use" blades
Gary also shared a few of those great blades with me. They were wonderful. Of course, I used them up so yesterday I reverted to one of the 100 plain blue box Personna blades I purchased quite a while ago. To my surprise, I got a very decent shave from it. As you should as Personna has repeatedly st...
