The sizes are only a convention. European makers don't make razors in eighth's of an inch - they make them to some metric size and we're rounding them down to the nearest eighth. If buying a used razor, how would one determine the size if it is unknown?

I can't imagine, unless he means the picture quality! I have to admit, if someone bought it, they could not complain about not knowing what they were getting! The pics are clear, missing end caps and all.

For the beginning straight shaver, the best advice is to pick up a used shave ready razor. These can be had from the b/s/t forum at SRP on a regular basis. Some of the guys there deliberately pick up razors off ebay for cheap, restore them and offer them for sale to newcomers so they get a great st...

I'll be curious to see what it brings on the auction. It must be quite rare. BUT, I'll bet it does not shave any better than my '47 Super-Speed!!

- If you're using it, it doesn't matter.
- If you're selling it, it's dishonest.
- If you're collecting it, you can easily find a better one.
You're right on all points.

Thanks.

Ebay win

All Super-Speeds were not created equal. Does it have date code on the back of the head? Does it have a colored tip, such as dark red or blue?

Razor Restorations Question

Question, guys:

I came across a blue tip Super-Speed and want your opinion about re-painting the worn-away blue with a close/perfect match, since the rest of the razor looks good. Also, recommend a type of paint if I do this.
