Gotta be a record for the fastest and most obscure and off-point hijack of all times. I'm laughing now! It's a good day to be here among you fellows. Anyway, since we've lost control, now that nobody's mentioned it, I picked up a Torrey 11/16 half hollow ground spike point smiling razor yesterday at...

A word of warning about the 30"s version of the Tech with the triangular slots, the first version I believe. It is aggressive. It will bite. The Tech changed from aggressive to mild with the change to the rectangular slots.

This is the shavegeekery that Gordon referenced in another thread. Don't you just love all this experimentation and fiddling around! The guys are having fun with the hobby part of it, and all's right with the world.

Gillette English Tech

I just want to say a few words about my most recently acquired DE. I got a new handle from cooncat Bob, and as an afterthought I asked Bob if he had any Tech heads he could sell me along with the handle. It so happened that he had just received a Made in England Tech head. As near as I can determine...

Evidently...apparently.... How sure are you of that, Gary? The Bath & Body Works store near me had both the tube and the can of Bigelow a month ago. More importantly, how good is the aerosol stuff, and how different from the cream? If it's the same product in a new dispenser - if it can be work...

Bye Bye Bigelow Proraso Tube

Evidently it's gone. They've apparently replaced it with Proraso foam in an aerosol can, branded COBigelow. No big surprise that it costs about ten times what you can buy shaving foam for. John Meyer's endless crybaby song has come to pass, no more "waitin' for the world to change". Good l...

The lid on my Proraso (COBigelow) broke so I squirted the whole tube into an empty Yardley bowl. It's dried completely out now, resembles a big hard wax candle without a wick. I use it exactly like any other hard soap. It works well, and I expect it to be around for years.

I've only got one Arko stick, and with all of the others that share my shaving work equally among themselves, that one stick is probably going to be around for several years. Having said that, twenty bucks for 15 sticks is tempting! Seriously, I wonder how many shaves there are in a stick of Arko? A...

When I bought my new Slim at the drug store, I was a stubborn youngster who knew everything. I got home and was disgusted that anybody'd be so sissified that they'd have to "adjust" their razor, so the first time I used it, I cussed and drilled that thing up to 9 and that's where it stayed...

Chris, I've read a few of your earlier posts, and was impressed by your observation that the edge you obtained (at that time, a couple of years ago) was better than a Shapton 30K IIRC. I may work my way around to a set of Naniwas at some point, but right now I am more impressed by the availability a...

Working toward getting just the right edge

I've got a special razor that is on the way to becoming a good shaver, if I can be patient and use my head. I might eventually identify and show photos of it, but not before I'm convinced that it actually cuts hair (ie: whiskers). Yes, an oddity, but true. An artist and craftsman made it, It was not...
