For a bright pick-up in the morning, I head for the nearest Dunkin' Donuts. Not all good coffee is a gourmet brand. One of the joys of traveling in Canada is that there is a Tim Horton's about every 1.5 miles. I've never had a bad cup at TH's and it helps me maintain the proper level of caffeine fo...

SuperMax Blue Diamond razor blades

I see SuperMax Blue Diamond blades for sale on eBay (#170449344225). This is a new blade to me and I haven't been able to find any discussion/review of these blades on SMF. Has anyone used these?

I find it is usually good to look in on:

He usually has a couple dozen vintage razors for sale.

Marty, you have to delete the period after .com from your browser bar. It'll work then. However, he does not appear to have Arko aftershave cream in stock. Still, if you PM him, he may be able to work something out with him. Haven't seen him in a while on the forum, but melyus has always replied to...

Try www.melyus.com . He carries Arko and ships to EU countries. I've dealt with him twice and found him to be a reliable vendor who provides unusually quick delivery.

I just completed my second transaction with Melyus ( http://www.melyus.com ). I ordered blades from him earlier this year and I recently bought a Gillette Fat Boy Executive from him for my collection. Both purchases went smoothly and delivery was surprisingly fast. His prices are attractive and on m...

It's very good to be among gentlemen who know how to conduct a conver...

I recently took a whirl at trying to make aftershave. I tried witch hazel with rum, vodka with rum, both with other stuff like clove and cinnamon all ended up smelling like bad booze or sickly sweet. Annoying but interesting. I've used the witch hazel formula below (under the bay rum recipe) and ma...

JLC Shop (jlc20001) on eBay sells all three varieties of VDH for 5.97 - 6.03 for 3 cakes. I bought 3 cakes each of Glycerin and Deluxe last spring, had the shipping combined and ended up with a very good deal. I can still buy Select at my local Rite Aid for $1.99/ea.

Surprising isn't it, how something so simple can be so easily screwed up. I have some vintage Gillettes that are at least 50 years old and they still work fine. Exactly. My everyday razor is a Fatboy that will turn 49 later this year. It is in perfect working order and has only minor, cosmetic wear...

Hi Paul, Squire and all, I have seen the razor before and wouldn't recommend it at all. The above mentioned razor have serious quality issue and is usually uneven at the bars of the razors. Silo doors can sometimes be off angled. Purchase with caution!!! Regards, Jason Thanks for the warning! My RA...

PM sent.

I'll reserve my judgment until Squire weighs in with his review. The photos of the blade edge should provide the definitive answer.

Hey light, I did a lot of measurements until I realize the project was meaningless because the same blade would perform differently in another razor. Not to mention that blades perform differently on different faces and beards. Whatever blades may be deemed sharpest by empirical research my face is...

They both hold the same amount of terror for me that I had before picking up a DE razor for the first ti...

I've recently discovered that a very good combo in my experience is a Feather in a Schick Krona. And from the first shave to (nearly) the last, the blade seems smooth as silk, and the lasts through a good number of shaves. Thanks for the info. I've just acquired a Krona and will drop a Feather into...
