Forum vs Ebay

Post by slcsteve »

Several months ago I placed a razor for sale on SMF as well as B & B and it generated no interest. So.......while checking ebay yesterday I noticed the same branded razor ending that day with a bid of $71+. My forum price was $25 if I can recall. I decided to ebay it with a starting bid of $20, no reserve, and a buy it now of $75 (shipping included with buy it now). I have bought and sold on ebay for quite a while and although most of what I've sold on the Forums generally bring less than the ebay potential, I prefer to sell to forum members for the lesser amount. It's a hobby for me and not a business and I prefer to keep it that way. Anyway, if it sells for just the opening bid - so be it. Kind of fun to watch though.

Here it is: http://tinyurl.com/knx68

Feel free to bid

Steve, I love your sentiment. That is why I offered a few things here before I would go to ebay. Some stuff I just give away, and some stuff I sell. I have been tempted to buy some of your stuff - I almost went for that Plisson #10 but I had the black badger coming. Were it a size 12, 14 or 16, I would have bitten.

I absolutely agree, Sam.

And, Steve, when you decide to let go of a #16 for $110, let me know first!!

 I'd settle for a horn handle.

Sam,
I cannot resist teasing.
But I have the same Plisson EW burled walnut handle (plastic) in size 12.
Similar to this.
I used it for a very short time and with white soap only (D R Harris lavender).
Like new condition.
Had no intensions of selling (no offers from anybody else please).
Well, $120.00 Paypal, and I’ll include priority mail shipment.

Steve, sorry for briefly hijacking your thread. It’s for a good cause.

Pony: Colonial Drug got a big shipment in. Ask for Cathy at (617) 864-2222 and tell her you are at SMF as she will ship free. She will have a wide assortment.

No apologies necessary and it sounds like a good price for your 12. I withdrew the Plisson 10 that I had for up sale. I decided that I like the brush better than the money.

Sam.....

Here's your chance.
