Actually, as I have a box of the tallow based and of the palm based Yardley Sandalwood I must say they are both equal in performance. I am sad that my Blenheim Bouquet bathsoap is not as good though since it went through the reformulation. At least it's comforting to know that I still have an unopened box of the tallow English Fern and a couple more boxes of those bathsoaps coming in.

Recent Purchase
I recently found some Yardley's lavender soap in one if the department stores here. The price was very reasonable so I thought I'd give it a go. The lather was outstanding, the smell very nice, and boy does it clean well. One of very few soaps where I didn't feel the need to use any moisturizing cream after my shower.
I'm sure based on what I've read in this post it's the American version.

Alan, Almost undoubtedly, if it was "reasonably priced" ( unless the store manager is smuggling it over the border from Canada ). The American stuff is still not bad, especially compared to most other soaps remotely in that price range. The original English made stuff is superlative, however.

The real English made stuff? It's possible, but I doubt it. I've only seen the real stuff in stores like that once, and that was in the '90s when, for a time, Yardley was in receivership, and they were selling off EVERYTHING, wherever they could. The bottles of Yardley English Lavender, 'perfume strength' that I still have, were gotten at that time.

Dave, Okay, that's what I figured. If, against all odds, it had been the real English version, I'd have been at the local Dollar Store first thing tomorrow morning ( chuckle )......cause there was that ONE time...and I cleaned them out; Lavender, Sandalwood, and Rose soaps and talc, and those bottles of Lavender Water practically for free. It was incredible.

Well,
At the end Dave scooped me - but a dollar store by my house has the lavender and the almond/oatmeal bars, too.
Not a 3-pack - just single boxes. The almond scent is very similar to my GFT almond shave cream.
Guess I need to head back and pick some up!

Kent, I have to assume that by now they know that ( see above posts ), but they're intent on buying it anyway. That US version is available in pharmacys and some supermarkets around here. But the real, English made top shelf stuff is hard to find even in NYC these days.
