DR Harris Cream Shampoos

Post by Crhis »

Has anyone tried these?

Comes in Lemon Cream or Coconut Oil.

I'm intrigued as to how well a cream based shampoo would perform.

I'm also curious. I would bet it is high quality since I haven't used a DR Harris product that wasn't.

Hi,

High quality it is. It just doesn't lather like a conventional shampoo.
BTW, they just changed packaging for their shampoo. It no longer comes in the packaging as above.

This is my every-day shampoo and it is really top quality stuff. I tend to alternate every few days with an anti-dandruff shampoo, or else I get a little flaky.

It's quite a strange product - it's not like any other shampoo I've ever come across. It's like a very thick, dense cream which you scoop out with your finger tip. You don't need very much because a little goes a long way. The scent is also, as you'd expect, of excellent quality. I really can't recommend this shampoo enough actually, and I'm glad that I use it. I'll definitely be buying more one the time comes.

Jason, what does the packaging look like now? I hope they haven't got rid of the tubs. I like them.

Gareth,
I have the new and old tubs.
New one are shorter and fatter and with a wider than body lid, unlike the old one that is like a cylinder.

How does this product differ from a tub of shaving cream? I imagine, basic ingredients wise, they are quite similar.

Remember that regular shampoo is really liquid detergent.

It does look a lot like a tub of shaving cream, but Jason said it doesn't lather like a traditional shampoo. Does it lather at all or is it more like using conditioner?

Clint,
It does lather, just don't expect huge amount of lather as conventional shampoos.

Clint, it's definitely not like a conventional shampoo, but trust me and Jason when we say it's very good stuff.

Gareth, do you still feel the same way about this shampoo after two years?

I've used D.R. Harris' cream shampoos (both the coconut oil and lemon but mostly the coconut oil), exclusively for the last three years, and can vouch for the high quality.

I've read only positives about these shampoos so far, unusual in itself for this kind of product. The lemon is tempting, moreso than the Harris Golden, which I was also considering. A light, go-away scent works for me, as does being able to use it every day.

Is there a North American Vendor... or even Canadian for the Harris Shampoo?

EDIT: Just found it at Fendrihan - $32 CDN is a considerable amount, this one will need spousal approval!!!
