Changed my hair dressing

I didn't replace my Vitalis when it ran out. Instead I picked up a big tub of Clubman Styling gel. Easy to use, cheap, fast and effective. This thing's going to last several years. Sometimes a change is good.

That's funny, Gary, I just went back to using Vitalis. Although it's made in Japan by Lion corporation under license. Nice stuff, the scent is a little less pronounced than the USA version.

Vitalis has served me well for a lot of years. I've always liked it.

Janet, thanks for asking. I wouldn't know, as I have neither. As inexpensive and plentiful as Vitalis is, you can get some and find out for yourself! :D

FYI, I've been using Pinaud Clubman Styling Gel for about 2 months, since my last bottle of Vitalis ran out. You might wanna try that one too, while you're at it.

You know Gary that when I ran out of Vitalis they didn't have any at my local Walmart so I went online and tried Lucky Tiger and Jeris. I didn't care much for either but especially the scent of Lucky Tiger. Jeris does not have any oils to hold hair. It's mostly water alcohol and color/scent. I always use a Suave grooming gel on wet hair after I shower, then add one of the tonics before brushing. Later I found Jack Dean bay rum hair tonic. Great scent. I use all but the LT regularly.

This large tub of Pinaud Clubman gel's going to last a very long time at this rate. At least a year and a half, maybe two more years. That's OK with me presuming I still have hair to use it on.

Gary, I wanted to mention that I have and use, from time to time, the Clubmen gel. It's excellent. The only issue with me is it seems to dry out my scalp so I use it occasionally these days. I perceive that issue is a function of age and years of practice. I now use G&C's Groom and Clean mixed with Brilliantine but for about a decade or two I used a gel that was very similar to Clubman's. I also shampooed daily in those days. No issues. When I hit my 40's this all changed (they say the warrantee runs out at forty). I wish I could continue the practice as I used to as I love the scent and how it made my hair feel (soft). But the body doesn't work as it once did.

My current regimen works quite well and produces the same results so I am happy. But I will always keep a tub of the Clubman on hand. And it does last a long time.

I use a variety of measures to control my hair. At 84 I don't have much but when I need a haircut it wants to curl. Then I have to plaster it down with strong stuff. I usually mix Vitalis with a men's grooming gel made by Suave (cheap). It is scent free and gets stiff if used alone in quantity. The oils in Vitalis soften it up a bit.

I'm currently enjoying a tub of Nancy Boy Styling Cream. Pleasant scent and seems to work well.

Still using my combination of brilliantine and Groom & Clean. On weekends I use the Clubman. It's a nice change up and my scalp can tolerate it so far. Wish I could use it more.

Four year follow-up. Still using the Nancy Boy styling cream. It's a good quality hair dressing.

Clive, a good recommendation. It is very much like the Yardley lavender hair cream ingredients wise ( an old product, not the brilliantine) that I have.

Although the hair cream is good I did try it recently to alleviate the dry hair it's too greasy and doesn't let the hair dry to a more natural state yet conditioned.

The Beau Kreml seems to be the way for me and I'm well pleased. Used it today and it was excellent.
