resoling shoes

Post by Sam »

i have a pair of allen edmond captoes. i tend to wear out the outer portion of my heels very fast. so i need new ones. is there anything special about the allen edmond heels, such that i should return them to AE for new heels? or can i use a local cobbler for about half.

i would tend to return the shoes to AE for new soles and heels and refurbishment for $110 or so vs. the $50-$60 for a cobbler unless someone tells me that there is nothing special that AE does to put on soles any different or with different materials

Sam,

For the price that one pays for a pair of AE shoes. I figure that sending them back would be the best course of action since most cobblers still nail heels back on in my experiance. AE soles are and heels are sewn on as far as I can see.
