5 worst films of all time?

Feel free to post anything unrelated to wet shaving or men's grooming (I.e. cars, watches, pens, leather goods. You know, the finer things of life).

The absolute worst film of all time is The Forbidden Zone.

By worst, I of course mean best, if you know what I am saying...

Seriously, go watch that film then come here and tell me your movie is worse. Then watch it again, and if your sense of humor is twisted enough, you might actually start to like it.

CLIP: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP_xIJFZaoY

At that point in the movie, it hasn't even started to get weird. :)

Or, if you prefer something slightly more weird: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D-UE8fahtU

The Food of the Gods

I wondered how they ever got it shown anywhere.

Important book. In Wells' earlier writings, he shows a real anti-technology bent, al la Dr. Moreau. Food of the Gods seems to be promoting a technocracy. Haven't seen the film, though.

Steve, those two films fall in the "so bad that it's good" category. I think this thread is trying to find the ones that are just plain bad.

Anyway... my list(in no particular order):

Starcrash
Worst sci-fi epic ever made. Not even Caroline Munroe in skimpy outfits could save this one.

Day of the Woman
Also titled as "I Spit on your Grave". Just plain awful.

Cannibal Holocaust
Even more in poor taste than "Day of the Woman".

Heaven's Gate
The film that nearly destroyed United Artists. Long, dreary, and just bad.

Battlefield Earth
Not as awful as "Starcrash", but damned close.

Manos: Hands of Fate.

Not even Mystery Science Theatre 3000 could find a way to make it entertaining.

That was a fine movie! Right up there with The Killer Shrews, I Bury the Living, and the Stuff.

Alienator (starring Jan Michael Vincent) hasn't been mentioned yet. So, please allow me.

My review after watching for nearly an hour (had to go to bed):

The one good thing that in this movie was the natural dialogue. Seriously. Most of the folks said the kind of thing a normal person (like me) would say in similar situations. (Orrie - "You shouldn't drink when you're driving." Ward - "I drive better after a couple of beers.")

P.J. Soles (as Tara) is particularly witty (though probably unintentional). (P.J. - "Ward, you made me smear my lipstick". Ward - "How could you tell?" P.J.'s visual response was priceless.)

The hillbilly brothers also come across as pretty natural when talking with each other much of the time. Alas, the drunken doctor did not get much screen time. A serious loss.

The dialogue was refreshingly unpolished, unpretentious and natural.

The story line is eerily similar to the Terminator movie. Except the terminator (or Alienator) in this movie is big, blond, female, and is wearing chest cones that would have made Madonna blush. So, of course, they're very different movies.

The soundtrack is bad. The acting is worse. Especially Jan Michael Vincent putting in what has to be the best act ever as a macho he-man. Charles Bronson took lessons from this character. Fortunately, his time on screen is short and rare. The special effects (even for 1989) leave one in awe at the money-saving steps taken in this movie.

Teagan Clive plays The Alienator and is best known for being in David Lee Roth's California Girls MTV video. But she deserves lots of credit for this movie!

You can read a little more here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096786/

Alas, not available on Netflix. But has been on The Movie Channel's rotation this past month.

Liquid Sky
Any flick that has a synopsis that begins "Invisible aliens in a tiny flying saucer come to Earth looking for heroin." has to be awesome. I was convinced it was a documentary...

I actually kind of like this movie. I saw it first back in the 80's and had been an Oingo Boingo fan for years before that. This is some of Danny Elfmans earliest movie work. Saw the movie again a few months ago on a special edition DVD and it has lots of commentary and other neat stuff.

This one is not for everyone but those that do enjoy it are probably pretty fun to be around and have a unique sense of humour.

Forrest Gump.

Was held hostage 3 times before it swearing to myself what a piece of garbage this thing was, while all around were crying and cheering throughout.

Wasn't there a Jaws movie -- maybe III or II -- that was in 3-D?

I loved the first one -- I'm still afraid of salt water, a la David Foster Wallace, and I was riveted by "Into Harm's Way" -- but this ass end of the franchise was painful to watch.

Also horrible was "Sideways."
