Cleaning smell out of cigarette case.

Feel free to post anything unrelated to wet shaving or men's grooming (I.e. cars, watches, pens, leather goods. You know, the finer things of life).

Cleaning smell out of cigarette case.

Post by Jukkie »

One of the reasons I bought a cigarette case is cause when I was younger I couldn't afford cigarettes easily, so I bought a cigarette case to keep my half-smoked cigarettes, and to limit the amount I'd smoke in a day.

Now that I just toss the half-smoked cigarettes, the case is really just for looks. I use it more for other things than cigarettes now.

Problem was that after keeping all those partly smoked cigarettes in there, the case smelled horrible every time you'd open it.

So far I've tried letting it sit for a couple days with baking soda in it. No luck on that.

Then I tried coffee grinds. Well, you can't smell cigarettes, that's for sure. But of course now it smells of coffee... And not good coffee, kinda sour coffee.

Does anyone have any advise for getting this sour coffee smell out now that it doesn't smell like cigarettes anymore?

I'm not sure what the case is made. Whether it's real leather or not.

The case has a Team Pistol logo on the bar inside. Flat, rectangular, all black with a bit of metal showing on the rims, holds 7 cigarettes on just 1 side in case anyone's seen this case before and knows if it's real leather or not.

Use a big enough Tupperware-type of container....

crumple full sheets of newspaper into the container...

put the case (open) in there and make sure it is surrounded by
the newspaper ....loosely packed... not tight.
Need air space as well. Put the lid on it.
Leave it sit for a couple of days.

Then just throw out, burn, or recycle the paper after.
The container won't smell either)

Just a suggestion: spray it down with Febreze, let it sit for a while and wipe it out. Maybe repeat. I don't know how well it would work for that, but it's worked on other things for me.

If that works, well done. Couldn't ask for a better answer.
