I notice that probably a key part of the trick is to ensure that the rim of the glass above is over the rim of the one below. Logical when you think about it but I bet many an aspiring extreme drinker has fallen prey to improperly aligned rims. Sort of like loading a Lee Enfield.
Come to think of it it probably gets harder to remember as the night wears on and the trick is repeated a few times.
