Of course, while not an official senior myself, I am only 3 years away from the 55 yr old senior's day discounts many stores offer --- wish they'd change the name to something a bit less pandering ..... like "Hey - you made it to 55 - we want to give you a discount so please buy more stuff from us"

On the surface it is amusing because of the candid horseplay, naivety, and confusion. If you look deeper you see more. For one, there is a conspicuous absence of the mutual contempt that so often creeps into marriages after decades. Hubby is fooling around to lesson the apprehension presented by his confusion. Wifey ignores that and focuses on the problem. He is the peace keeper, she is the problem solver.
