Pocket Watch under $100

Post by DavidB »

I had a Westclox Pocket Ben as a teen ('twas many years ago!) and want to get a basic pocket watch. Can I get one for under $100? I see that you can get a Pocket Ben on eBay for under $100, but I have no sense for the quality. What brands should I look at or avoid? I see Gotham on Amazon.

Advice appreciated!

My wife gave me a Seiko Railroad service pocket watch in 1996 and it is an amazingly accurate and well made watch. It's the same watch used by the train operators and conductors throughout Japan. It cost more than $100.00 but it is probably good for a life time of use. You can see it at this website.

After 17 years mine still looks great and keeps perfect time.
