Yet another event symptomatic of a world that can be truly frightening. I pray for the victims and the perpetrators.

Got on a plane in Ottawa, landed in Toronto and in that short period of time all heck had broke loose. Unbelievable --- just unbelievable.

I wish it were. And I remember when it was. What changed?

I agree with her, Coltrane. If I was a runner I'd sign up right now.

+1 on the last part of that. True evil is a reality but I think it's pretty rare - you can't be in your right mind to commit such an atrocity. Let's hope they receive the full weight of justice through the legal system.

Edit: None of which is to say the victims and their families shouldn't be foremost in their minds. I can't imagine having to wake up and remember a family member is no longer alive after this.

All hell breaking loose in Boston last night and this AM. I hope the authorities are able to apprehend the surviving brother alive.

And it continues to percolate as the events overnight showed how important it is to make progress in an investigation quickly out of the gate. I am impressed with the level of response and coordination between the various factions to move things along in the investigation. Sad result last night to see another individual loose his life -- this time a police officer. I am ever reminded how important their roles are as they safeguard our daily existence.

It gives you a very different perspective of the officer in a speed trap on the side of the road -- in plain sight or otherwise. Thanks to our emergency responders everywhere.

This was a case study in how cross-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies can work together to bring people who do very bad things to face justice. What a horrific week for Bostonians to have to live through. I am pleased for them it has come to this conclusion.
