Gonna brag on my son and his friends

My 11 year-old son is playing on an all-star team that played its first tournament this weekend.

In 3 games, he went 8 for 9 with a triple and 2 doubles. The team scored 61 runs, and surrendered only 19 in those three games. So they now get to host the District Tournament starting Friday and will be the #1 seed.

Dawson is the one on the far left...holding his buddy's foot.

Bryce, he has his heart set on doing just that. He has a great work ethic with this sport. I am excited to see how far it takes him.

Hehe...not necessarily. When you put up 61 runs in 3 games...there are bunch of boys hitting that well.

Yes...that is very high. Typically a team does well to score 10 in a game at this level.

They start District Tournament tonight. Way the draw worked out...if we win tonight...we are off til Monday.

15-5 victory tonight. Dawson went 2 for 3 again.

Well, every team has "that game". Last night was ours.

We did not hit well. Even so...we have the game won and choked it away defensively in the 6th inning. We finally lost the thing in 8.

So now we refocus today on fighting our way out of the loser's bracket. If we win today...we will probably get the privilege of trying to avenge that loss with elimination on the line.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Tonight Dawson & the boys avenged their only loss…by mercy ruling their opponent…13-3.

It seals at least second in district for us. So no matter what happens this weekend…we will continue to play baseball next week.

Tonight, the boys fought their way out of the loser bracket. They defeated the winner of the winners bracket twice tonight to win the District Championship. We play again on July 20th at the Alabama Dixie Youth State Tournament.

Dawson pitched 5 innings in the first game surrendering only 1 unearned run.
