Happy Easter

Post by Mr. Pinchy »

Happy Easter everyone!

Disappointed my milk thread got shutdown, at least it created some interest and got some traffic happening in the gentleman's parlour for a brief moment.

I respect the decision though, and look forward to reading the one post everyday in the gentleman's parlour once more

Have a nice weekend gentlemen.

Admin edit: We don't want your kind of traffic. You have had several warnings. You're gone.

Happy Easter everyone!

Even though American society makes a much bigger deal out of Christmas, my denomination (and as far as I know every denomination) considers Easter to be the greatest holiday of the Christian calendar.

+1

Love the feelings of rebirth that Easter brings to mind -- Christmas is wonderful, but for me Easter is the ultimate cause for celebration.

In the high liturgical traditions, Easter Sunday always features the sequence (=chant or hymn particular to the celebration) Victimae Paschali Laudes just before the Gospel. For Catholics, it is the first time we hear or use the word Alleluia since before the beginning of Lent. The sequence narrates the salvation of humanity via the Resurrection. Here is a link to an astounding performance from U. of Notre Dame in 2012, and another link to the English translation of the text:
