HP printer update forces the owner to ue HP ink

I have one of the printers in question and I was wondering what has been going on. HP is deliberately sabotaging our printers. Buy HP ink or else! I bought my printer outright, I'm not renting it. Can anyone guess how many HP products I'll but ever again? I have a very long memory.
When this printer breaks I'll look to other brands. What a shame, it's not a bad printer.
