Re: Last of the Magnificent Seven
I only knew one other. I did look it up and there's no way I would have gotten more. If someone hadn't reminded me of Robert Vaughn I wouldn't have gotten that name. So for me 1 out of 7.

Re: Last of the Magnificent Seven
I recall Yul Brynner, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen and Robert Vaughn (guy with the cool black gloves is how I recall him. . .)
There was the younger guy who followed them to the village, and someone else about whom I'll kick myself in a minute when I do allow myself to use Google.
Now, whether all of those chaps were actually in the movie is another question )
[EDIT - Yep, I got one wrong ), and no amount of extra time would have made me remember the other two]

That role was excellent for him. Why'd you edit your original post?

The only one I could remember was Yul Brenner, he was easy. That's why I remembered him.

Re: Last of the Magnificent Seven
The two hardest ones are horst Buchholz, and Brad Dexter. The others are yul brenner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert vaughn, James Colburn. And of course the great Eli Wallach as Calvera.
Now....name the actors in the movie the professionals. Only 4 here to guess.

RIP. I also remember Robert Vaughan from The Protectors.
In recent years here, he has been on TV quite a lot, encouraging the viewers to call "The Law Offices of James Scott Herron!"

Same here in Maine. He's the talking head for Joe Bornstine (sp?).

Claudia Cardinale was aces, too.

Re: Last of the Magnificent Seven
Claudia Cardinale was absolutely magnificent in "Once Upon a Time In the West", my favorite western. Woody Strode also had a small role in this movie, Sergio Leone's ultimate spaghetti western. The other stars were Henry Fonda (his only role as a villain), Charles Bronson and Jason Robards. The scene early in the film when Cardinale arrives on the train accompanied by Ennio Morricone's amazing theme will take your breath away.rsp1202 wrote:Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster, Robert Ryan, Woody Strode. One of my favorite westerns is How the West Was Won from 1962. The cast includes Carroll Baker, Lee J. Cobb, Henry Fonda, Carolyn Jones, Karl Malden, Gregory Peck, George Peppard, Robert Preston, Debbie Reynolds, James Stewart, Eli Wallach, John Wayne, and Richard Widmark. Narrated by Spencer Tracy.

Re: Last of the Magnificent Seven
I just remembered another iconic western - The Missouri Breaks - starring Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson in the only movie they shared, if memory serves me correctly. I have read that both actors were never on the set at the same time, but their performances were taken separately before editing. Their characters were in conflict with one another. Another one worth tracking down just to see these two guys in their prime.
