T-Cells & Cancer

Post by churchilllafemme »

This is a very well-written article about how a researcher made the discoveries that won him a Nobel Prize. It explains in a very clear and understandable way how cell-mediated immunity works, and it outlines well how medical research in general happens. It is rare that an public article is done this precisely. Also, the researcher is an interesting character - even though he really needs a shave.

Absolutely fascinating, both about the research and the man behind the research. Having been through the “cut, burn & poison” routine nine years ago, it is very uplifting to learn that there is a more effective and less intrusive treatment in the offing. What also struck me is that Allison is a true Renaissance-man.
