Photo Request: Boots

Post by mantic »

I have a favor to ask of our UK friends. Could someone take a digital photograph (800x600 or better) of Boots' shave soap and/or shave stick for me, for use in an upcoming video? I will give a photo credit.

Hi Mark/Mantic!!

If you mean the Palmolive Classic Cream and the Palmolive Shave Stick, I have a few I could take pics of. I also have the Wilkinson Sword soap, their cheapo razor, the Boots razor, blades that came with both, Ingrams cream, Wilkinson Sword Brush, Kent Soap (MWF?), and Kent Cream.

If you want photos of any of the above, just say and I will be happy to oblige.

Chris-- I thought Boots had their own brand of shave soap as well. But I'll also take a pic of Palmolive too! Thanks!

The only other things I can think of in Boots would be some Men-U products and The Real Shaving Co. products. Unfortunately, I haven't got any of the latter, but they have a website (you'll have to Google search for it).

How would you like the photos, PM, e-mail, in this thread?

Is it just pics of the Palmolive you want?

Mark and Chris, yes Boots do indeed have their own branded shaving soap and cream. The soap comes in either a shave stick or shave bowl and the containers that they come in are black. They also have shaving cream in two varieties; with or without brush. They are also black with either red or blue writing depending on the type. The packaging is very simple and 'no frills'. Blink and you'd miss it on the shelves.

Bill - Show off!

Wendell, yes the soap is good. I have only tried the stick, but I presume the stuff in the bowl is the same. The scent is fairly neutral and... well... soapy. If you want one, let me know and I'll get one for you.

Gareth,

Don't caedruce me! I actually find the soap to smell like Cade. It's not bad stuff for the price. I had a friend send this to me a few months ago. My wife turned me on to Boot's many years ago. She is a steady E45 cream user. I still have an old bottle of their after shave "Forest Rain". Do you know if they still have that in the shops?

Regards,

Bill

I stand corrected

I have never seen the Boots soap before, but now I'll have to search it out and give it a go. I just hope it's in the tiny local branch...

Mark, photos of Palmolive Cream and Shave Stick: (slighty damaged from being thrown in the kit bag)

You are most welcome 8)

Your videos started me off on the right track, without them I'd have probably started with an M3, and then switched to an electric when I got back from casualty...
