You only get one...
Okay guys, times are tough. SCAD, RAD and any other "AD" has been elimimated. You have to sell ALL of your gear, save for one razor, one shaving cream/soap, one fragrance and one balm/moisturizer. What do you keep? What is your absolute favorite "go to" gear?

Dang, I've not even got my first scad/rad package even though there's three of them on the way! Never mind, I'll still pick from my meager war chest.
1932 Gillette (Canadian made... of course!) Tech razor, just because I can't seem to beat myself up with this one.
My 20+ year old bristle brush... no it's not very good, but it's still with me and I can make an almond size dollop of cream last though three rounds so it's a keeper.
I'd have to pick Proraso Red tube for cream... it's not going to end up being my favorite but of what I've tried so far, it's the one I'd keep.
Proraso pre/post cream. I don't much care for it in pre use but I've learned to love it as a post shave balm....
I have no doubt that all the goodies I've ordered from QED will radically change my choices when they arrive but for now this is my list and it's the best I've had so far in 30+ years of shaving.

"GO-TO" gear.... because times ARE tough.....rtaylor61 wrote:Okay guys, times are tough. SCAD, RAD and any other "AD" has been elimimated. SMF shaving brush
Williams shaving soap
early 1900's Sheffield Steel str8 razor
Taylors Sandalwood, cologne, balm, deodorant
That would be my choice for gear if I had to sell everything else (at least if I had to choose today ).

This is another of those very rude and unpleasant questions. Humph! Okay, I'm making two assumptions here; one is that it would/will not be any problem continuing to get whatever we choose, and that you are asking in terms of stuff that I already have, or have used. I'm still not finished with the brush thing, there are at least two more that I wish to get. So, given all that: Schick Injector razor and blades, Harris's Best Badger brush, Coate's Almond or Trumper's Limes shave cream ( sorry, it would take a week to decide between those two ), D R Harris Aftershave Milk, and Penhaligons English Fern cologne. Whew! Gordon
Man, a tough choice, 'cause my preferences change at least weekly. But as of October 7th...
Vulfix 2233 brush
Gillette Aristocrat razor
Personna blade
Coates Lavender shave cream
Proraso aftershave balm
Crusellas Del Amor cologne
Cheers,
Dave

Ravi,Why is this in the Pictorial section?
My intentions were that pics would be posted such as I did. Hence, the pictorial section. I guess I should have included "Include a Pic!"

Skin comfort set
Razor -- doesn't really matter, but has to be DE with Feather blade
brush -- Vulfix 40
cream -- Noxema (red tube) -- it's gone the way of the dodo, I know, but this is a fantasy thread, right?
balm[/b] -- Bravas (Japanese brand). Smells bad but makes my skin feel great.
Smell set
Same as above, except
1. Change the cream to Taylor's lavender
2. ditch the balm

Gramps,
Great pic. As I used to say in a former career, "thanks for calling and playing our game!".
I'll have to compare that box of Williams to the one I have at home. Seems to look a bit different.

Thanks Gordon,
I looked a long time for that razor, as it is the exact twin to the one I was given as a kid (sent by my great aunt, from Sheffield)...
I purchased this one from Tony Miller at SRP.
It is a "Joseph Allen and Sons" from approximately 1910. (The firm was in business, I think, from 1864 to about 1925).
It is my favourite.

PS.. I recently purchased another, that will need some cleaning up, but is in Gr8 shape too.
