Nagano Japan, snap shots

Post by Araner »

My wife and I went to Nagano prefecture last weekend. Here are a few snap shots of places we visited.

First stop is a Buddhist Temple.

And now, life on Mars.

We visited the Mars distillery in Nagano. It’s a small operation and the facility is nestled in a peaceful wooded area at the foot of the Japan Alps.

And, most importantly, the shop where I could buy a few bottles of Mars Whisky to take home.

Lastly, a noodle shop where we had lunch on the first day of the trip.

The End.

Very nice photos and I really enjoyed looking at them.

The whiskey looks like it could be what we in the U.S. call, Scotch.

Is it ?

Again, thank you all for the kind remarks. Yes, the whisky is very much a Scotch type of whisky. And, I'd love to hang out with lyrt; certainly would like to get a bit of schooling from him.

When we visited the Mars Distillery, the 4 of us were the only ones there; I being the only foreigner. When we finished the tour and we’re in the Spirits shop, a local news crew showed up to do a piece on the Distillery. Being the only foreigner there (sticking out like a sore thumb) they asked if they could interview me. I’m a relatively shy person but the girl doing the interview was so cute I couldn’t refuse. Here’re three pictures my friend took of me being interviewed.

In this next picture, my wife has managed to get between the interviewer and myself.

All the best,
Mike
