Summer view - Mt. Fuji

Post by Araner »

Most pictures of Mt. Fuji show it with a snow cap; it’s practically mandatory. Have you ever wondered what it looks like naked (snowless)? Last Saturday my wife and I went on one of our overnight trips and we picked a few roads that were of the less traveled variety. As we were driving along one of those roads we discovered a scenic view point of Mt. Fuji that was phenomenal. The water to the right of Fuji is Lake Yamanaka.

And now, the obligatory people pictures (my wife and I)

This sort of clarity in the sky is very unusual in mid July; it’s usually very hazy. Fortunately, a few days before a typhoon blew through and left a high pressure zone in its wake helping to make things beautiful.
