This Weekend's Pics

Post by drmoss_ca »

Firstly I realised I hadn't used the Fuji GA645 in a while, so I put some Tri-X in it, exposed it at ISO1250 and developed in Diafine and got this:

Lots of grain! Later I picked up the M9 and Summilux 75 and took these two:

This is how Thomas looks when he has to concede a point in a debate:

And this little girl keeps me awake at night:

Nice pics from a great camera -- of course, we all know that cameras don't take pictures, people do --- well done, Chris.

Outstanding portraits, as usual, Chris. Capturing situation-specific expressions would appear to be a forte of yours.

Considering that Thomas recently cut off his hair to donate it, I would guess that his hair grows very fast!

Chris shoots with the grain rather than against it.

Drives me nuts how many current digi-cam users pine about "noise" -- which we used to call grain when I started film photography. I remember those early days in the high school dark room developing negatives and prints. The joy of actually creating your own pics from shot to paper was wonderful. I simply don't get the same feeling with post-processing, and as a result, rarely post-process anything I shoot on my Oly e-620.
