Washington Park Arboretum

Post by churchilllafemme »

It was a beautiful sunny, hot day here in Seattle today, and my wife and I went for a walk in the Washington Park Arboretum (UW Botanic Gardens). Some of the flowers, including azaleas and rhododendrons, were blooming.

But I was actually more interested in the varying textures of the tree barks.

It was a great day for strolling.

Nice photos, John.

I got my first SLR in 1972 when I attended the University of Washington (UW) and I used to walk over to the Arboretum to take pictures. Forty+ years later, those slides are still good.

Nice to see spring coming -- we are a couple of weeks from the Canadian Tulip Festival and the shoots are coming up strong.

<<sigh>> We are only just finally rid of the last little pile of iced-snow that was sitting in the shadow of our house without direct sunlight to melt it away until temperatures and rain finally got rid of it.

What a beautiful spot. We had frost yesterday. (Grumble, grumble.)

86 degrees F is blazing summer heat in Seattle. (Or at least it used to be.) That is really warm for spring.
