I spent Saturday and Sunday traveling around Mt. Fuji. Here are some of the pictures I took along the way.

Nice images, Mike. I especially like the second and the fourth.

Is there a smaller volcano in front of Mt Fuji?

Beautiful pictures, Mike!

I've been to the Hakone region (don't know if that's where you took the pictures) and had one of the most relaxing times of my life at a local ryokan.

Murray, I don't think it's a volcano. I do know that the entire area is the way it is because of Mt. Fuji. There are 5 lakes that surround Mt. Fuji that were created by the eruption of the volcano and there are so many other geographical anomalies in the area attributed to the eruption - it's quite a wondrous area for nature walks and sight seeing.

Hi Monk!

Hakone is about a 3 hour drive from my house and I've visited the area countless times. It's especially nice to visit the Hakone resort area in the summer because of the cooler atmosphere of the higher altitude.

While there are excellent vantage points for viewing Mt. Fuji in Hakone, all of these pictures were taken in the Fuji 5 lakes area surrounding the base of the mountain.

best regards,
Mike
