We spent Christmas on Izu peninsula in Shizuoka prefecture. Here are a few of the photos that I took on the trip.
Down by the waterfront in the town of Shimoda
The salt air is eating this mail box up
Traveling up the west coast of the peninsula
The village of Kumomi
A free open air hot spring bath on the water front
A view of the hotel where we’ll be spending the night in Matsuzaki village
Viewing the sunset from our room
Out for a morning stroll
A view of Mt Fuji from the fishing port of Heda
Entrance to a shrine in head
The last shot of the day before heading home. I call this “Tree on the beach in Heda”
All images were taken with a Sigma SD1 Merrill camera and a 24-70 f2.8 Sigma zoom lens.
All the best,
Mike

Nicely done. A long time ago I had an SD10, but found the colours hard to correct (in those days it was use Sigma's software or nothing). The Foveon sensor has obviously got a lot more refined since. I'm jealous of your sunshine and presumed warmth. -12C this AM and not very inspiring to go and get my fingers cold!

The local chamber of commerce has nothing on your photo skills. Thanks for keeping us supplied with great candid shots!
