Icing Up

Post by drmoss_ca »

This was actually taken about three weeks ago, when the rivers were freezing over. They're solid now.

This Arctic High has been rough. Don't want to go out when the windchill takes you down to -37c (that would be -34.9f, gents).

The family enjoying/enjoyed the lad's time back home, did you?

Very much. First time I've seen him since my life went to hell, so it quite normalising for him to carry on just as if nothing happened. His mother was in the UK for Xmas, shepherding her failing relics around, so it was nice to have someone to cook for.

Shepherding the relics? :D Good one . . .

I couldn't imagine how cold and uncomfortable it must be. Really not my cup of tea.

I read once an ice fishermen's equipment list should include a beer container at least four times larger than the minnow bucket.

Glad your time with your son has been so restorative. Nothing compares to the relationships we can build in families .... especially with our youngsters. I love how as they grow into adulthood the bonds grow even stronger. Sad when they are away, but oh-so wonderful when you get time with them.

Family means more to me each and every day. My children are grown and spread out but close enough that frequent reunions are possible. And the toddling granddaughter brings a special joy.

Blessed be the tie that binds.
