Been so busy lately; finally had some time to post up a few pictures from my walk-abouts.
A princess in the making
I’m flying!
Sunday’s are made for shopping
Just scored me some roast chicken!
Me too!
Make mine some grilled eel
Fresh baked goods
A bridge to the future
Brother and sister
Get on the bus, Gus
This is how we do it
The streets are lined with bottles of sake
Who has more fun than us?
Coffee, anyone?
Inside looking out
Lastly… be careful where you put your middle finger
All the best,
Mike
Playing with the Sony A7II & 50mm M-mount lens
Re: Playing with the Sony A7II & 50mm M-mount lens
Well, full frame and mirror-less.
Really nice.
I would love a full frame camera, but the prices...just a bit too high. Except for maybe the original Canon 5D (not the Mk II or III). But the sensor is a bit dated, and most of the bodies (at less than $500) are a bit too rough.
Great shots!

Which 50mm, Mike? I have a Leica M adaptor for the OM-D and find it interesting to combine them. Here's the Noctilux:

The E-M5 doesn't have focus peaking, but with magnification (and the in-body stabilisation set to come on with a half-press of the shutter) I was surprised at how easy it was to focus.

Re: Playing with the Sony A7II & 50mm M-mount lens
Chris, this set was shot with 3 different 50mm M- mount lenses:
Voigtlander 50mm f1.1 Nokton
Zeiss 50mm f2 Planar T*
Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 Nokton
Here’s an example of the Voigtlander 50mm f1.1 Nokton
Here’s an example of the Zeiss 50mm f2 Planar T*
And lastly, the Voigtlander 50mm f1.5 Nokton
I went out on 3 different days with just the camera and one of the 3 lenses. I spent each day shooting away at whatever I encountered on the walk-about and I’ve been posting the results on my Photo blog.
It’s been a lot of fun. If you’re interested the first two lens results can be seen here (the last lens results will be posted up later this week.

I can't describe why, but the colors look so warm and life-like.

Mike, I agree with this. Great photographs!brothers wrote:I can't describe why, but the colors look so warm and life-like.
A lot of your shots remind me of an inner city here, except neat and clean.

As for the colors looking warm and life like, I can only attribute that to the camera. All the pictures are JPEGS that came straight out of the camera. I don't do any post production manipulation other than straighten up the crooked images.

No post-processing? (How refreshing! ) They do indeed look very good just as they are.
