The King, Queen and Jack of Yokohama

The "King" is the Kanagawa Prefectural Government Building.
The "Queen" is the Yokohama Customs House.
The "Jack" is the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall.
In the maritime heyday of Yokohama these were three prominent buildings that stood out in the skyline and navigators
used them as aids when entering port for shooting bearings with a compass to fix their position on a chart.
The navigators gave the three buildings the nicknames (King, Queen, and Jack) and while these buildings are
overshadowed by larger buildings today the nicknames have stuck and become part of the historical culture of
this beautiful port city.
The King
The Queen
The Jack
While taking the pictures of the King, Queen and Jack I was amazed by the beautiful sky.
Under the beautiful blue sky
Welcome to Yokohama
