Trumper's Sandalwood Soap
Proraso Liquida Dopobarba

Trumper's Spanish Leather

Unbelievably wonderful shave today. Ever since I started wetshaving (~1.5 years ago) I have always used a mug to generate lather. Well, today I decided to go straight from the soap to my face. Wow. Hopefully it will not be simply reduced to beginners luck as the results were fantastic.

Gordon using a soap? The planets must be in alignment! Gordon, dear old friend, if you've tired of shave creams, you know that I will be happy to take them off your hands for the price of shipping. No need to thank me!

I see you've gone with the Lords cologne today. I believe I read a rumor that Penhaligon's is going to rename Douro back to Lords. If true, I wonder if they'll be changing the formula?

And I would like to echo Gordon's sentiment that it is nice to see Thomas back with us. Thomas, I hope things are going well for you, and that you will be able to continue to stop in frequently.

Why Bob, you haven't been paying close attention. These days I use hard soaps fairly often, although I certainly use the creams more. I use the T&H soap, a couple or three Trumper soaps, and D R Harris's Almond. Also a wooden bowl of the Original Yardley shave soap, but I daren't use it very often, as it can not be replaced. In fact, I used hard soaps exclusively for years, back in the '80s and '90s.

Yeah, I heard last March, in NY, that Penhaligons had been sold by that American Cradle Holding Co., and was back under new English ownership, and that these new owners were interested in moving the firm back toward it's roots, and away from the 'modern, upper end dept. store' drift of the last several years. I certainly hope so. Repackaging, and going back to the name 'Lords' was to be only the first step in this process. There is some reason to hope for the reappearance of some of the discontinued shaving items, and some other older type products as well, over the next year or so. At least this is what I was told.
Regards,
Gordon

Sunday

Conditioner
Just for Men cream
Swedish Gilette
Progress
SCS Brush
Thayers Witch Hazel
Coral Skin Food

Well, I blew it. I changed 2 things at once. I've been using Derbys and soaps. I should have switched up one thing at a time.

Not a bad shave so much, just not good.
