October 2 - took the day off from shaving as I have a few ingrown hairs on my lower neck - not related per se to DE shaving - these babies just came out of nowhere.

Back in the saddle in another couple of days.

for me, no shave, because it's Yom Kippur--the most important Jewish holiday. Tomorrow, I'll be back in action.

So you aren't allowed to shave on holidays? A real question, not trying to be ignorant.

Art: I was born Jewish and I know that on Yom Kippur, only leather is to be worn on the feet, or something like that, so the memory I have of the services is that a lot of kids like me were allowed to wear tennis shoes. However, the services are more somber and sober and so many of us snuck out of service down to the bakery down the street. Funny thing was, our parents knew as they had done the same thing, and it is sort of a rite of passage.

The Jewish religion is very symbolic, both that we not forget the past (for example, the Pesach, or Passover, Sedar). I have forgotten more about religious observance than I remember, so perhaps Jeff can tell us more. I would be glad to know and perhaps he can make a separate posting in Off-topic.

Monday...

Schick Injector w/ Schick blade
Bic Metal
SR212T super
Honeybee Lavender soap
QED Lavender H20
Italian Floid a/s (sample)
Trumper's Coral SF

Tommy Bahama edt

Folks, this Honeybee soap is wonderful....great lather, slick and leaves the face feeling great.

I received a bunch of different samples from TomH (wish you would post again...too fine a gentleman to be missing from the forum) and the Italian Floid aftershave was one of the samples. Interesting stuff...worked very nice to relax my face.

I really like this Tommy Bahama scent on a chilly morning. I know it is not Trumper's or Creed but it is nice in my opinion.

Great shave to start the week.

Have a great day.

well, Art, it depends on the level of observance. I'm not ultra-Orthodox, I'm traditional. I do take this holiday seriously, at least, on following the fast which is customary.

Monday-

Also took the day off from work, and shaving. I am half Jewish, so playing hooky from work, but checking in via email and IM.

I had a rash over the weekend (stress related), so today it's no shave, Jojoba oil and MPG Santal Noble EDT.

Monday:
- Merkur HD w/Feather
- J.M. Fraser's cream
- Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar cologne

I tried that Merkur blade for two days, and I tossed it. I suppose the time crunch yesterday morning could have exacerbated it, but I was covered in nicks Sunday morning.

I like the Trafalgar a lot and it seems to last a little longer than the other T&H scents, like 1805.

Best wishes to our Jewish members.

Monday-

Schick 'M' Injector w/ Schick TwInjector blade
The Shedder
CAR Hydrolast shaving goods in Peppermint (Sandalwood Cutting Balm)
CAR Summer Sage tonic
JASON Witch Vera

Great shave. Why I insist on going back to a DE is beyond me and now I have straights on the way, but I can blame Devin for that....(Oh, it would be soooo sexy to watch you shave with a straight razor....)

Tye, talking about straights, I'm a bit scared to use mine for the next week. I cut myself really badly yesterday using a DE, so I'm going to take it easy for my next shave.
