Tuesday

Simpson Chubby 3 Manchurian

Trumper's Limes Shaving Cream

Gillette 50s red tip (last week I used the blue tip, which was not quite aggressive enough. I worried that the red tip--this was the first time I have used it--might be too much, but it was fine, although I still prefer the silver tip SS).

D.R. Harris Pink Aftershave

Trumper's Spanish Leather

(Did I already post? Uhhh....)

Wednesday:
- Merkur HD w/Feather blade
- C&E Sweet Almond cream
- T&H Ultimate Comfort ASB
- a dab of T&H 1805

Smooth face today (no kids knocking on bathroom the door), and I'm still rubbing my hand across my face happily.

The Ultimate Comfort ASB has a smell that put me in mind of camping, but I can't imagine what we would have had at a Scout campout with this scent. :7)

Wednesday:

Vulfix brush
Proraso Red (new!)
Merkur HD
Feather blade (shave #5)
Generic witch hazel
Nivea Sensitive Aftershave

My Proraso arrived from Momentum Grooming last night and I was anxious to give it a go this morning. Fantastic! I left it on a bit longer than usual and that tingly feeling really settled in. I like it a lot, as I know many of you do.

Edit: Apparently I was a day behind.

New (NOS) '60s Aristocrat
Swede
Tabac
Rooney Finest

First Gillette for many a long year. On #3 very - almost peculiarly - mild after the HD, the Progress and, of course, the slant. One with, two across, one against. Close, but not BBS. But of course I need to adjust my technique for this little bugger. I can see the reason for their popularity, though; they're very forgiving (but I wonder if it will actually cut at all on #1, or just gently sort of rub your face. I have people on staff to gently rub my face, dash it all.)

Wednesday:

Gillette '58 TV Superspeed / Gillette "Swede"
Caswell-Massey Almond Shave Cream
Lancome Anti-feu du Rasoir aftershave balm
Caswell-Massey Greenbriar Aftershave (old formula)

Well, the Lancome balm was a sample that I found in an old dopp kit. When I opened the packet, I was pleased to see that it was a thin balm. There was some separation, however, and the scent was not too pleasant. Being the intrepid wetshaver that I am, however, I slapped it on my face and was met with a stinging sensation. It has now dried to a slightly tacky finish, which I find disagreeable. Note to self: product samples from 1988 may have expired.

The Greenbriar smells nicer than I recall. Perhaps a bit of aging helped that product. After all, I haven't changed.
