Friday

Fatboy w/Swede, WTG on 4, ATG on 1 Shocked
ToOBS Avocado
C&E Best
Alum
Proraso ASB
Limes skin food
Eucris EDT

Pretty good shave today. I normally have a problem shaving on consecutive days because my hair is just a tad too short. I normally get some irritation. I chalk todays good shave up to an aggressive (for me) setting with the grain and a mild shave against.

Hello All,

A very hectic day; just got to my PC now.

Like Austin, I decided on a Pen Opus 1870 theme with cream EDT and some shower gel for the evening.

Cheers,

What do you think of the Pinaud Bay Rum? I have the Pinaud Clubman A/S and was thinking about picking up some Pinaud Bay Rum.

My first straight razor shave...

Started out great on my left (dominant) side...but got much more difficult once I went to the right hand side!

I also left a lot of hair that I had to use the Futur to clean up. I don't know if the razor wasn't sharp enough, if I didn't strop it right, or if it was just because I had 2 days worth of growth. It didn't seem to want to cut the chin, moustache areas, just skip and drag over them.

To get my right hand side of my face/neck, I also had trouble regarding switching hands. Was just really difficult trying with my right hand. I ended up using my left anyway.

Still, since it was really fun, and I didn't end up cutting my throat, I consider it a success!

Razor is a Sheffield steel Pipe Razor.

Javny: Congrats on the 1st straight shave. I love the nostalgia that goes with it, but I am too "antsy" about getting the perfect shave that I did not slow down, learn to hone properly and take my time. Even the Feather straight I sold.

My lineup for Saturday, a noon shave:

Edwin Jagger HD with Tesco blade
Simpsons Chubby 1 in best
Plisson Amber shave cream
Touchup with slant bar, English Wilkinson blade, hair conditioner and lather
Thayers witch hazel with lavendar
Jason Aloe Gel
Coral Skin food

Cologne: Since it is cold, Serge Lutens Chergui

Guys, as a note, the Plisson shave creams have a lather that is not just like the English Creams. If you can get a meringue with Trumpers, this Plisson stuff is more like icing. More something or other. But it is so slick and it does shave well and you can use less of it to get the same lathers as with Trumper. I do like this stuff.
